I got a car!
Mmph… lots of exclamation points in blogpost titles lately. But no matter. I finally was able to buy a car. It’s a ‘99 Toyota 4Runner– silver, with the tow package and luggage rack. Only 63,000 miles, and it’s sweeeeet. I still need some more money to pay it off, but I’m getting there. So beautiful… and I WORKED for it, for every dime and dollar.
Check out just how good-looking it is (I think it’s quite spiffy, myself)… and see why I’m not allowed to drive it until after school is out :p
6:19 pm
Nice….. car there Seth.
Good job earning it too. it must have taken a long time. Maybe someday you can get a nice sports car
6:30 pm
Woah… Sethmobile.
Signature-worthy at IF
7:32 pm
Hmm… just to clarify, so people don’t think I’m lacking brainpower-wise. The car is being fixed… that was just the only way I could afford one this nice. I’m not going to drive it like that :p
Plus, it’s much more fun to show that picture and see what people think
9:18 pm
After you fix it, you should paint it. then pimp it out, get is some shocks, rotating rims, The works. lol
10:26 am
Yes… hydrolics for Seth… and we can get some nitrus oxide…
11:50 am
i thought it was a joke when i first saw it… perhaps its just because fixing up wrecked cars doesn’t happen so often in the UK.
8:00 pm
Well, i The USA most cars aren’t fixed at all. Atleast in Virginia.
3:52 am
Wow…yeah, that is pretty shocking at first glance.
So yes, it’s 3:48 AM and I just realized that I don’t need to be pulling an all-nighter right now for a take-home midterm that’s due _Friday_ at 5 PM, not _Thursday_ at 5 PM. Bah!
Also, thanks for the linkage, and kudos on all that scholarship stuff. I always wanted to get into the Presidential Scholars thing, but I could never get any information about it from administrators/teachers/secretaries/principals et al., so I never did figure out whether it was something I could’ve applied for or whether I had to be nominated for it, and then it was too late…not that I’m bitter…it’s been 2 years now…I also applied for the Elks deal, and sure didn’t get it, so again, kudos!
(*Sigh* I should get over my hang-ups over those little things I didn’t get senior year - I did get the stuff that counts, I suppose. That’s not _your_ problem, though.)
4:00 am
I just realized, though, that the link you’ve got there won’t always work - due to some anomaly of the file system, the http://www.artsci.wustl.edu/~mjbauer/blog/ thing does sort of work to get to that page, but it doesn’t necessarily load right. To have it always work right, try http://www.artsci.wustl.edu/~mjbauer/blog.html - that should get it.
Anyway, I’m just happy to be linked! Yay!
11:01 pm
Nice Seth! And congrats on working for it!!! Can’t wait to see how it looks when it’s fixed and you are driving it!
PS–I absolutely love silver 4-Runners!!!
9:14 pm
Wow, how did you fix up the car? I have a slight structural damage to mine too (slight left cant in the the rear => 0.7 thrust angle; 0 being perfectly perpendicular to the front). I checked out your pics and was wondering why you got the pre 99 front bumper (96-98 had different front bumper than 99-02)? I got 99 4Runner (also silver) at at great deal in Feb 2005 with 62000 miles from a private seller (thus the slight structural damage
). I just got a new set of A/T tires and BudBuilt skidplates+bellypan underarmor so I can go 4 wheeling. Awesome utility vehicle that take me anywhere!
