I know I shouldn’t be surpised by now how many evil bugs are in Internet Explorer… but this one is the most evil (except for PNG transparency shortcomings). Box Model Hacks talks about how IE’s implementation of padding and margin properties in CSS are badly, badly broken.
After hacking my CSS, this page now loads fine in IE as well. Let me know if things are still broken.
The Burning Edge says that Firebird 0.8 will be out Monday, February 9th. Excellent. Those of you who hate using nightlies can finally experience shiny new features like a download manager, better popup blocking, and a Work Offline menu option.
UPDATE: Lol. Speaking of which, I just realized that my latest batch of changes to the template files for this blog broke display in all browsers except… Firebird. Oops. Gotta remember to preview in other browsers, even if their implementation of CSS padding is faulty.
But only sometimes; usually they’re quite great. Trying to order my 15th Dell since May 2003 (I buy ‘em for people who are too lazy to buy their own), but my order’s been cancelled twice. With no notification, no e-mail, no explanation. And I’m currently getting the extreme runaround on the phone. I knew that I should always stick with ABS. Much, much nicer computers, for better prices… but only if you want a high-end one. Low-end, ’tis better to stick with Dell. Still though, I need to be studying for my government test, NOT trying to work through the Dell people.
Hm. Appears that my order was cancelled (both times) because, and I quote, “I didn’t like the order.” What’s that supposed to mean? I wouldn’t have ordered if I didn’t like it… plus, they didn’t say I didn’t like the computer, but the order. Weeeird. /me tries to order for third time. Sigh.
If it seems as if I’ve suddenly begun talking about things that are unrelated to anything else on this blog, it’s because I’m transitioning from an offline pMachine blog to an online Movable Type blog. Hosted on the brand-spanking-new sethkinast.com. w00t. Plus the fact that there’s nothing on this page whatsoever, that would account for some confusion as well, I guess. Things may appear a bit odd for awhile… but you’ll get into the swing of it. After all, I’ve been talking to no one but myself for months, so there may be things I feel no need to explain and yet you scratch your collective heads in bewilderment. Ah well. Who could stay away from the drama of my life?
