The fans in my computer case were about to drive me nuts. Two 80mm case fans and a 60mm CPU fan that were probably the most cheaply-made part of my ever-so-wonderful ABS computer. I’ve lived with them for a year and a half, and finally had an excuse to replace them… a client needed a new fan for his Dell as his had failed and thus his computer was slowly frying. After a long session of getting acquainted with different fan sizes, speeds, CFM and dB output, &c., I went to BestByte Computers (great prices, evil people) and picked up three case fans (one for my client) and a CPU fan. Here are my old fans. Ugly, neh?

I was notified today that I’m a semifinalist for the Presidential Scholars Program. If I become a finalist, I get a free trip to DC… I’ve never been to DC!

I went out to work on a computer today. It was WAY messed up… XP blue-screened on startup. So I just reinstalled Windows… and then the BIOS went wacky. Wouldn’t save settings, reboot randomly, etc. So I figured I’d take it back to the shop and reflash it. I reached underneath the desk to start unhooking the crazy thing and BURNED myself on the metal. It was that hot. The lady was like “Oh yeah, there’s a heating vent right there.” Doh >_<. Nuff said, I hope they didn’t fry it. But after bringing it back here, it seems to work okay. Reflashed BIOS, all is well. Lol. It was probably running at 140+ degrees Fahrenheit.
