Time for fun

This post was recently unprotected.

Time to mail Christina Hershey’s Kisses, which she apparently adores. Also sending The Princess Bride, which she has never seen, and a nice long happy note. Fun Fun. Then I can make this post non-private in a couple days when she’s safely gotten it all. I previously thought “if only there were more people like her, here at OU”. But I think— maybe there are. Goodness, she is a wonderful person.

I love surprises ^_^ there’s nothing like showing up when you’re least expected. It leaves a happy feeling in your stomach all day long.

Mmm music

I’d rather just talk to Christina, Emily, and Jeff. Boo, music. I know I’m studied up, but you can always study just a little bit more…

Hemiolas are obviously a cessation of normal rhythm to introduce a counterrhythm. And fermatas? A “hold” in the music. Lieds are pieces originally designed to not require instrumental accompaniment; Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel is an example. Goethe hated that one though. Strophic form reuses the music for each successive verse… in contrast to through-composing, in which one varies the music throughout the piece. A nocturne is designed to evoke dark and moody feeling associated with the night. Rubato, or “robbed time”, slows down the movement of the piece, then speeds it up again to make up for lost time. Leitmotifs call to mind a single idea for the listener by virtue of their distinct sound.

Wagner typifies romanticism in grandiosity, heroism, individuality, putting taste aside (subjectivity), and passion. Sure, I can write a four-page essay on that. No problem. Ph34r.

Beethoven’s THIRD has the hammer strokes, and the 31st has block chording and trill. Valse Fultive is slower. Waldesgesprach has the low female voice while Norma has the higher one. Chopin repeats that low note, listen for it. And Berlioz is just the sechs.

Christina is one of the nicest, kindest, bestest people ever, and I’ve never even met her.

I can’t wait to see Emily, Drew, Jeff, Josh, et al. upon my return for Thanksgiving. We just get three days, but I’m skipping Monday and Tuesday because most of my classes got canceled. Am taking Emily and Jeff to lunch so we can catch up.

And now I hope I don’t oversleep like I did again this morning. Will make doubly sure to get up on time.

mais toujours j’éspere que je reussisse au fin. Que mes éspoirs et mes désirs se satisfiraient. Que je gagne son amour. Je vous en prie.

Yay OU

I came to the Union to watch the OU game. 6 cups of Cherry Coke, 2 sides of onion rings, some cheezy sticks, and a hamburger later, I’m still here. I should really go to bed for church tomorrow, but I had a wonderful time watching OU smear Nebraska and talking to Christina :)

This weekend is so nice; such a good break…

And as we wrap things up,

this word from our sponsor.

Zoology got you down? Looking to put your hard-earned cash towards a worthy cause? Get tutoring from Seth and help him buy candy bars, movie tickets, and government bribes! Rest assured that even if you’re not learning any science, you’re still getting to spend time in his presence! Be the envy of all your poorer friends! * All this for just $10 / hour!

Possible side effects include “comprehension”, “getting it now”, higher “grades”, and in a small percentage of cases “parents not killing you”. What are you waiting for? Try yours today!

Lol :p

I am tutoring an awful lot of people now. But it’s fun, because I like zoo. So I guess it’s all good. I’m afraid I’m gonna blow Aleksei off tomorrow though :/ I guess I’ll leave a note, but I wish I had his phone number.

Tomorrow is kinda hectic, even though it will be wonderful since I got my Chem test out of the way! I studied for over seven hours yesterday, which was no fun. Got out of zoo at 3:20; basically came home and studied from then on with a couple small breaks (one to go eat because Hannah insisted that I eat something). But now it’s done… I just worked up the nerve to score it and got 100 on part V and 90 on part VI, yay! Although part V is bugging me. It had to have had a misprint on one question, so I answered it as if it were printed correctly… because the way it was written there was no right answer. I hope that doesn’t come back to haunt me.

But anyways, tomorrow I have only music at 8:30 (chem is cancelled on day-after-test), then I’m tutoring Jen for a couple hours. Then lunch and the library all afternoon while I get books for my research paper, band practice at 5:30, and tutoring with Paige after that. Not to mention I need to study for my music test which is Monday. But everything looks better after Chem is done… yes Hannah, like looking through Hannah-colored glasses.

I have a new friend from InvisionFree :) her name is Christina and she’s awfully cool. We are WAY too alike in some mannerisms ‘n’ things, though. Very weird… good weird though! But she seems like a very kind, gentle, huggy sort of person, and a Christian to boot, which is refreshing to see. She goes to Ohio State, now if only I can convince her to transfer :P

I really, really, really want to redesign my website. It needs color, whitespace, pictures, and more cool things like the Quote of the Moment. Now that I brought the webcam back I’m going to try a camshots section. But we’ll see. I just wish I were better at graphics design and layout; I’m competent codewise but I’m not so wonderful at coming up with pretty layouts and colors that mesh. But maybe someday it’ll happen. Maybe along with WordPress 1.3, whenever it appears.

Back to watching The Princess Bride, which I picked up on DVD at Best Buy for ten bucks. Maria was going to come watch with me but it got too late, oh well :(

même que je suis content… j’aimerais savoir que je suis aimé, quelquefois. parce qu’il est difficile d’être seul.

*This is sort of like being in a sorority, which is where you pay money to have friends. Except I’m cheaper. And not a girl.

Firefox one dot oh

All hail the fox of fire, for he has reached version 1.
