I recently got a credit card for the same reason as you - to start building up a good credit history. Unfortunately my card doesn't give me any perks at all, but I chose it as it was with my current bank so I could set it up online (with near immediate approval!) and pay it off instantly.

I pretty much only use it for large expenditures such as my monthly train ticket for work and various other larger purchases. I should probably look at going down the same route as you and use it as a delayed debit card, but it is of no real benefit (although that may be incorrect due to improving credit or not?) to me unless the card offers me some form of benefit for using it.

That could be the smartchip built into some cards. One of mine has that. It's definitely keyed to some brainwave frequency :D

I couldn't agree with you more. Credit cards are much like cookies: they can be used for both good and evil.

I got a credit card after I turned eighteen last year, both to build a credit history and so I could make online purchases (especially for sites that don't accept PayPal). Alas, I my card doesn't give me many of those fancy bells and whistles like yours ... I get some reward points, and that's about it. But it's got low interest, a higher limit than I'll need for awhile, and most importantly, no fees. :D

Now if I could only figure out why it's trying to reprogram my mind each night....
